A Glory Revealed Story: Bethani Roam
Coming back from childhood abuse, acute liver failure and losing everything.
First things first….A few housekeeping things:
In case you missed it, our kickstarter has failed. You can listen to me talk about it here. Because of this, we are resuming our regular programing here on Substack while I figure out my next steps. Good news…paid posts are back - subscriptions started again as of today- and this next one is for paid subscribers only.
Today I’d like you to meet my friend Bethani Roam.
Bethani is a long time friend of mine; we met over 20 years ago when her husband pastored at the same church my ex husband was pastoring at. We became casual friends… we both had babies boys around the same time and lived similar lives. Shortly after they were married, Bethani and her husband left the church where we were all working and started to travel to help other churches. It was during this time that Bethani suddenly developed acute liver failure and was given roughly 48 hours to live. While otherwise completely healthy, Bethani found herself knocking on death’s door with a four month old little baby, no home to call her own and a family crisis brewing.
Bethani tells the story beautifully on the podcast HERE.
This episode is must listen…but as you will begin to learn, Bethani was abused by her father as a child, and while she was in the hospital fighting for her life, it came out that other members of her family were also being abused. So not only was Bethani dying, her family was crumbling as well.
Bethani’s story is one of complete glory revealed. On the podcast she takes you through the very tough journey she had to take to find her own walk with God, and the lessons she learned through all that hardship will encourage you. The beautiful part about Bethani’s story is that all that suffering she endured was not the end. There was to be more discouragement along the way, in the form of a house fire that burnt their beloved home to the ground. But the strength Bethani found after her liver failure and childhood abuse was exposed, carried her through. Today, Bethani and her family’s glory is shining bright; God has faithfully covered her family and continues to bless them despite all the odds.
Here is a short interview with Bethani and some photos to help you get a peek inside her story….
