Hi! I’ve been away most of the week….
And in the background my team has been working hard. We are feverishly trying to create a lot of wonderful things I think you will all love… one of which is super exciting…I wrote a Bible Study you guys! I’m no Lysa TerKeurst, so don’t get too excited, but I do hope that the words bless you. I have learned so much through these past few years and some of the things I’m sharing are hard truths and steps I’ve had to make for myself.
The Bible Study is called “Reflections”….
And it accompanies an incredible podcast that will debut this coming week with Pastor Chadwick King. Please make sure you are a paid subscriber, as only those who are paid will receive the Bible Study. The podcast will be available wherever you listen to your podcast or HERE.
On Friday I shared a few favorite things with you.
In case you missed the exciting news… I am now a LTK creator, which means I’d love for you to check out my profile HERE. If you see something you love, be sure to purchase through my links and I get the commission for sharing.
Word of encouragement:
Raise your hand if you remember Frank E. Peretti, author of This Present Darkness? If you don’t remember, This Present Darkness was a book written in the late 80’s, with sequels debuting into the early 90’s, around the idea of spiritual warfare. If you have read it, I’d like to pique your memory. If you haven’t, maybe pick up a copy, because I can tell you, reading his book was the first time I could really envision what was going on with this verse:
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-4
So how is this encouragement…
Well, listen you guys. There’s a world going on around that we do not understand, nor can we see. It’s important we are aware. Why? Because life hurts sometimes. Like a lot of times. We go through things that boggle our mind or seem out of place. But have you ever considered that maybe there is a war raging around you?
Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid. The army that fights for us is larger than the army that fights for Aram.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “Lord, I ask you, open my servant’s eyes so that he can see.” The Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and the servant saw the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire. They were all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16-17
Just like Elisha’s servant, not seeing what was all around him, sometimes we don’t connect the dots that God’s army is really fighting for you. And sometimes all those things that happen that may boggle your mind or seem out of place, may actually be the direct result of an army of angels waging war against messengers of evil who would like nothing more than to destroy you.
So don’t forget today that you are commanded to “not be afraid” because an army that is bigger than your situation is fighting for you. Take a moment, close your eyes and just envision it. Do you see it?
You are going to be ok, my friend.
More than ok. He is more powerful than your pain, your trial, your situation. God’s army is on it.
Love you all! Happy Saturday!
