Hi Friends! Here’s what’s happened around here this week:
On Monday we talked about connecting with your “little” self. I shared how I wanted to be a rockstar as a kid, but over time I realized being a rockstar isn’t really what I wanted. You can read that HERE.
On Wednesday we talked about not forgetting what God has done using Moses’s sermons in Deuteronomy. We discussed how God was so extremely patient with the Israelites, even though Moses may have lost his patience once or twice… You can read that HERE.
A verse that won’t leave my head + a word of encouragement:
“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3
I feel like everyone who I speak with lately has the same response when I ask them how things are going: “It’s been a rough couple of months”. I get it. It seems like I’m not the only one in her prayer closet begging God for some answers.
It ebbs and flows…this complete peace thing.
There are some days where I feel utter surety that God is in all the things. And then there are some days where I’m begging God to show me He is still here.
Why would I think He’d leave?
I think that’s the question. Here’s the thing: if your mind is stayed on Him, then you would know His character. He doesn’t leave. He is always right there. Sometimes He’s quiet, but he hasn’t left. If we are stayed on Him, we would know this.
So it’s us, not Him. We’re the problem.
If our mind wanders and we stop focusing on Him, we lose peace. It’s a “we” thing. Not a “Him” thing.
Keep your mind stayed on Him….
He’s still here. I know it seems like He isn’t sometimes, but His character says otherwise. Things are bad in your life? Put your mind on Him. Remember His promises. Trust in His plan. They are just as true today as they were yesterday. It’s us, not Him. He is still here.
Hugs my sweet friends. Amy xo
